"Earth friendly toothpaste" doesnt have fluoride. You will get cavities later on, trust me. My wifes parents had her use some eco friendly crap for years when she was a kid, and her (and her siblings) have had major cavity issues as adults (and her parents ended up getting dentures before age 60). I'm 47 and have barely had issues, always use Crest and mouthwash, etc. Please use normal toothpaste, kiddos.

Hello and thank you for your video. I am considering an off the grid mobile lifestyle and currently looking at options such as yours, a 'stealth' van and a truckbed camper. I would like to know what is your MPG with the Subaru/Scamp while on the Highway and how difficult is to find parking while in the City. Thanks!

"Freedom" means different things to different folks. To me, "Freedom" means that at each fork in the road, I can stop and decide which road is "the one less traveled by".

It amazes me how many folks seem to be hung up on their toilet habits. As a boy, the toilet was in a storage building behind the house. It wasn't heated. In fact, the only heat in our house was a "Warm Morning" coal burning heater in one room of the house. We bathed in a galvanized wash tub in the middle of the kitchen. At night there were "nightjars" that would be carried out and dumped the next morning.

Although I own a nice 4 bedroom home, by preference I live in a 13' trailer with the same floor plan as yours. I do have a portable toilet that does come in handy now and again. At my age (74) I can't always count on being near a public facility.

Each night I can close my eyes and allow my mind to play back the beautiful things that I have seen that day. When I wake, I open the trailer door and spread before me will be a scene of beauty. It may be a desert vista, a mountain stream, or a peaceful lake.

Hot showers and a sit-down potty are fine and dandy. But I am not going to let them control my life.

It’s nice that they found their nitch but sad that this generation is not becoming productive citizens.

I just bought a 14' Travel Lite trailer. It has a bathroom/shower, kitchen. My summer job requires that it be "self contained" and I needed a trailer light enough for my Jeep to pull. When I have hook ups I plan to use the luxury items and sleep outside in nice weather. In between jobs I'll be "dry camping/boondocking" and probably won't even use the toilet and it has an outdoor shower as well as an indoor one. I appreciate and like the minimalist lifestyle. I tent camped and slept in the front seat of my Jeep for 5 months so I can appreciate your lifestyle choice.

Check out this other scamp video and do an inspection on your frame
Fast fwd tp 2 min mark
I suspect water got inside the frame thru the exposed tounge and rusted from inside out unseen.
Best wishes and many happy days.

Check the frame for stress cracks (just as the frame comes out from under at the front) as many have broken (cracked) can be reinforsed by qualified welder. Better safe than sorry.

You're the first person I've seen using the goal zero. I know they're not cheap, but I want one so bad. I think they're awesome and so much better than batter banks and charge controllers and inverters, because they're everything in one small package. Plus the panels of course. Thanks for sharing your scampi.

Very cool, and they seem to make it work with their pets, which is great. Only problem is I don't think I could wait to go into town for #2. Why not turn the closet into a dry flush toilet? Also, wasn't clear to me how they bathed, especially in winter.

You guys should look into chemical toilet one of those little small like 3-gallon jobs believe it or not I have one in a pop-up camper for emergencies or for camping off-grid away from running water and I only got two empty it about every three days or every third day or so the container comes out and you just basically open it up and pour it down a conventional toilet like in a gas station and then fill up the other container with fresh water and your good to go again if you don't want to use it inside get one of those little solar shower shower stalls and just hanging up on the backside of the camper outside
