Couple’s own Paris-Dakar using Land Rover transformer-camper

Brice grew up in Morocco overlanding across Africa in 4x4s and 6x6s. When he met his wife Irina they organized off-road trips across the “land of the pharaohs, and Lawrence of Arabia”, but soon realized that as a couple they wanted more overnight comfort so they turned their Land Rover into an quick-transforming micro camper.

With the press of a button, the standard car pops up and out and in 43 seconds becomes a tiny home complete with kitchen, toilet and indoor shower. To take advantage of the limited size within a standard wheelbase, the couple placed a lot on tracks: the dining table/benches slide to make room for a shower stall (rainshower fixture included); the toilet slides out from within the stall. With the push of other buttons, the bed drops down from the ceiling on wires and the back rack drops down into an instant deck.

To create a comfortable off-grid experience, the entire roof of the car is covered in solar panels which provide all of the campers’ electrical needs. The stove runs on the same diesel from the car’s tank to keep things simple and easy to access in remote regions.

The couple named their car, and company, Wild Fennec after a nocturnal fox of the Saharan desert and they are selling their vulpine vehicle for 50,000 euros.

Wow! Thats exactly the shower and toilet arrangement that I always thought I would put in my van (if I were to ever have one) and I always wondered why no one else thought of it. So glad to see someone who did.

A slide under a pop-top? Sorry but to me, that's asking for trouble. If one goes bad, the whole setup will be useless. Slides are just too unreliable to put on an expedition vehicle. Worse, they will ALWAYS have leakage issues of some sort. Even RVs costing $300,000 have issues with their slides. At least with a pop-top, you can have a hand crank in case you lose power and it's less likely to leak.

Using the power from the solar panels for cooking would save diesel. But I think he knows what he is doing 😀

Kristen! Thank you for all the years of wonderful videos! I watched so many over the years, that I too have been, down sizing, and getting ready to make my own dreams of stealth living, my reality! My hair salon, was 234ft, and I seriously consider putting a Murphy bed in my shop, with a small wardrobe behind it, that makes it look like a speak easy book self!

Again, thanks for taking " US" with your family over the many years of exploring all the different alternative housing/tiny home/ and multifunctional living spaces across the world. Three place stand as my all time favourites. Paris. The room in a box, that opened up like lego. Japan, the country mansion, made out of traditional joinery, w/ the living roof. And Spain, the one room, with shifting walls that configure into different spaces. Work/home/bedroom/kitchen!

All time favourite mobile home, that of a young man who's a wild water boat racer, that build his Hobbit home out a flatbed truck in The U.K. There are so many wonderful, cool people out there, doing such cool things. It makes me feel super inspired thanks to you and your families wonderful life! Each one teach one, God bless you all, and take care!
