Custom Build Tiny House – Craftsman Style | A New Beginning

Blogpost: ‎

We had a tour in a custom build tiny house, made by Adam from A New Beginning Tiny Homes. The blue color on the inside matches the outside, and Adam put in stained glass windows, which casts in a lot of colors when the sun shines through – so beautiful! The house is modeled after a 1920 craftsman bungalow. There is a lot of storage, and tons of custom made things that make this house unique, including a removable bathtub!

I love the colours but not crazy about no back on stools or sofa/bench. Not comfortable to sit for any length of time. Would have preferred a smaller bathroom and larger living space in main area. Pricey for sure. It is pretty though.

The sconce lights in the storage loft should be raised so that you aren't bumping into the lights if you do you it as a guest sleeping loft.

This lovely little house has soul, from the beautiful duck egg blue and wood highlights; the fabulous bathroom with adorable bath; lovely ceiling in the loft; sconces; leadlights; gorgeous butler's sink … oh, and the fan. The FAN! Great job all round.

If you have a sleeping loft, you're going to want a super conformable sitting area down stairs because lofts are a pain in the butt (speaking from experience). You don't want to go upstairs or especially ladders to "relax". I also think the kitchen had a lot of wasted space. Other than that, this is beautiful. I don't think I could live in this tiny house though.

I like those stairs the back board of the stairs would help someone like me who have a hard time knowing how far or close something is to me and how deep or small it may be

Again, I see the same thing over and over again – too little living room space.

I’m not sure about the propane stove and not having the hood exhaust outside the home, I know with natural gas stoves in conventional homes you are required to have them vent out side and move a minimum number of cubic feet per minute as well. To prevent carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide build up.

The custom made bathtub and furniture are just beautiful! But the size of the kitchen disappointed me.. it's a shame all that extra space is stuck in the bathroom.. but hey, different preferences! Beautiful colours!

That bathroom door and frame are gorgeous. Just missing a more comfortable area to relax and watch a movie, etc. This is an oversight of many tiny homes.

This is the best layout I've ever seen in any tiny house! How much is it? And where can I tour this? I'm in San Diego.

There is no counter space in the kitchen, no stove, the stools that you are using at the folded table is to short and awkward to sit and eat. The bar ladder is difficult to climb. I would close off the area over the kitchen for storage since there is none in the kitchen. Men!!!!!

I've watched a ton of these tiny home videos, and only commented here. This home isn't as spacious as I've seen, but the woodwork, stained glass, and design is impeccable. Well done!

Finally, a stairway with railings! I love tiny homes and I know there aren't a lot of options for stairs, but I'm always astounded at how almost every configuration has stairs with no railings at all. I'd be petrified I'd fall from the loft area.

Woah, all that workmanship on the exterior details must come at a big price. Having a teeny-tiny kitchen workspace, I don't understand the need of a massive fridge, that could have gone under counters … to give a prep counter! Big household sink, oven and fridge but no space to prepare food — that irks me, haha. LOVE the blue.
