The Disaster Artist is shaping up to be a compelling look at the art of creating the best bad movies. This comedy based on the cult classic The Room, and it’s titular The Disaster Artist Tommy Wiseau. James Franco The Disaster Artist, Seth Rogen The Disaster Artist, Zac Efron The Disaster Artist, Alison Brie The Disaster Artist, and many more make up the talented cast of The Disaster Artist. The Room behind the scenes was an insane, confusing disaster, and the book by Greg Sestero, he of oh hi, Mark fame, is a hilarious look into the making of cult movies. But The Disaster Artist isn’t the only funny film about failed movies. The Room movie is one of many cinematic Titanics that have gained worldwide infamy along with a cult following. Today, we’re taking a look at movies that are about making a bad movie, or a b movie, or cult movies in general, and observing how the trials and tribulations of making a real disaster film related to the enigmatic Tommy Wiseau. Just like The Disaster Artist 2017 is generating some serious Oscar buzz, many of these movies about bad movies are way better than their disastrous subject matter.

Take the legendary 1994 film Ed Wood by Tim Burton Ed Wood. Starring Johnny Depp Ed Wood and Martin Landau Ed Wood, who won an Oscar for his performance as Bela Lugosi Ed Wood, it’s a heartwarming story about the man called the worst director who ever lived. The creator of Plan Nine from Outer Space, Glen or Glenda, and Bride of the Monster led a fascinating life, and the Ed Wood Tim Burton film starring Ed Wood Johnny Depp is one of the most charming depictions of ‘50s Hollywood you’ll ever see. Just like American Movie is a documentary about a small town filmmaker, Mark Borchardt American Movie, with big time dreams. To film his dream project, American Movie Mark Borchardt films a quickie horror movie called Coven, but things don’t go very smoothly. Neither does the making of Troll 2. From the famous Troll 2 oh my god scene to vegetarian goblins wreaking havoc on the town of Nilbog, Troll 2 is considered one of the best bad movies to ever exist, which is why one its former stars produced a documentary called Best Worst Movie. Troll 2 left a lasting mark on everyone who saw it, so just imagine how it feels to be a Troll 2 actor. It must feel a lot like Greg Sestero, star of The Room and author of The Disaster Artist.

Critically acclaimed, but still the worst movie I have ever gone to a theater to see (way back in a 1977 midnight show.) "Eraserhead." So bad that I only stayed because the folks I went with were driving and I couldn't walk out.

Critics loved it, and your opinion may differ, but it is the gold standard for the most egotistically crappy movie ever made.

Despite that, Lynch made later things that I have enjoyed.

I will not leave my stupid comment in my pocket, but I will say, that is my favorite line to quote from "The Room," especially when you say it to people who haven't seen the movie.

The FP was a wonderful bad film, and homage to 80's underdog and dystopian films.
