How we got into Downsizing and Debt Free Living

Our personal story:
We have been through a long process of downsizing and simplifying our lives, and we would love to share that story with you guys.

We once had a company with lots of employees, responsibility and of course lots of worries to keep us awake at night. That is a while back now, and we are on a journey towards financial freedom and geographical independence.

It was always a dream to become location independent and to have our own business.

We also want to gain control of our lives and be able to get more time in our lives, and especially time together.

Here are the links for the challenges we mention in the video:

What did each of you study in college (university) and are you still in that line (those lines) of work as you travel? Love your videos….and congrats on your pregnancy. 🙂

Very inspirational! I am not ready to totally downsize but I do want to simplify. "Problem" will be getting husband and kids on board 100% though I'm sure my husband will be happy to help if he is able to get me to empty out the basement. We are also working to become debt free but it's challenging!

your not really living if you spend all your time working to pay for possessions you really don't need, a lot of people woke up after the housing crash

Please give me tips on how to sell things. I am down-sizing from. a 3-bedroom apartment to. maybe just 1. I want to be debt-free and start having a life at 46. I needed to sell things so that I could pay for the movers and the next apartment. I'm a single Mom and don't really have much friends so I need to clear off my space to pay less for movers. Please advice.

I have lived out of a truck, car, trailer, house, and on the side of the road under an freeway overpass. I can tell you the thing you need the most is between your ears, and under your chest bone! All is good if you only are happy. You can be happy anywhere…anywhere. It truly is all in your head. I live in a house now with things all around me, none of them make me happy. Will be happy when I get back on the road, my backpack and my phone is all I will take…lol! Love your video, wish you both a happy life!!!

You guys are awesome! Thank you so much. I love you work and you have NO IDEA how inspiring you are.
3:31 to 3:44 this segment I can totally relate to and its a KEY element in clearing debts.
I had to sell my tech gear to get rid of debt and I was surprised people were actually interested in buying my electronic stuff even though it was outdated, however everything was functional and well maintained so i think it was an advantage to get good prices. Some had to travel 2 days just to reach my place and take my audio equipment. I strongly believe GOD has a plan for all of us and we need to do our part and the rest is taken care by him. 🙂

Interesting channel! What I'm curious to know is, what kind of company was it and also what exactly do you guys do to make money while being location-independent?

wow you are such a great couple! Since I was a kid I lived in a quite small apartment with my brother and parents so I never had much stuff (neither money). This had an opposite effect on me, now I really like spacious houses even if I still can not afford to live in one of them. Anyway, if that makes you happy …I am totally in. 🙂 well done!

Very wise! You can only have the highest degree of freedom if you are debt-free. There's an old Irish saying: "Contentment is wealth". I encourage you to enjoy all the free joys in life. Many of us have discovered this truth late in life. You have discovered it early!

Just found your channel. Y'all have great advice. I really like how organized you are. I'm a pack-rat and my SO is a minimalist. I want to get rid of some things, but I find that I'm emotionally attached to so much of my junk.
I grew up living in apartments. After my Mom remarried, a lot of our belongings were left with family as we lived in a very small apartment. When we moved, we went to get our things and found that about 75-80% of our things were taken by various family members or given away. I think that's why I get so attached and freak out if I have to get rid of stuff.
I hope that I can get over that because I want/need to downsize.

Think myself this could be ideally what I'd like to do myself as downsizing sounds so cool especially when living in a flat in a skyscraper in Scotland where clothes are my biggest over achievement and are spread over 5 wardrobes plus chests of drawers filled with odds and ends. So yes would like to see how you set your minds to actually finding out what is necessity and what is not? So far what I have seen of others Tiny Houses appeals to me but then you guys are young and so full of life, me I am a pensioner, still renting.
