I was completely fucked by an MLM called Body By Vi. This video is 110% the truth!!! I'd love to sue them! The promises they make compared to the reality is sickening! #thisisapyramid

I think the most triggering thing about this is the fact that everyone calls it a pyramid scheme when it’s a fuckING TRIANGLE

I know it's nowhere near as weird, but Bitcoin relies on many of the same "you hate your job, get rich quick" ideas at the moment.

anybody know anything about ACN? Just found out people close to me were in it. Was almost lured at one point, not because of interest but because I was too much of a patient guy to tell the dude to piss off.

It is not about the supplier, but about your organization and association that will determine how you utilize a company like amway to be profitable and ethical. Amway sells products, and good ones by the way (look them up), but they are only a distributer. Even having partnerships with companies like apple, nike, Best Buy, Target, etc. Things everyone buys from companies they are going to shop at anyway. You can make a couple bucks here or there by signing up with Amway on your own, but again that is not the idea here. Creating an asset is not what they teach, rather your organization should be the one to teach you about residual income. This is not a long term plan unless taught right. Unfortunately there are not a lot of orgs out there that utilize Amway in the correct way. So inspect the fruit on the tree. “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.” There is evidence

    Maybe I am fortunate…

I am so glad I didn't let this pompous jerk ruin my career in this industry. I have made an honest living helping others earn extra income and even make a good living in network marketing for over 25 years now. Sure there are some bad apples out there just as there are in any industry. Do those few bad apples make the entire industry bad?

You pick on a couple different companies in this video. Tell me, wise guy. Where can someone get started in business for about $100 and be able to earn money with a viable product immediately? The average franchise costs $70k to start. The average start-up business is $1000's of dollars and 90% fail the first year. This is the only industry that you can actually get your money back if you don't like it for 30 – 90 days and in some an entire year!

So, let's examine your beloved Hollywood business here hotshot. Talk about a disgusting industry. I see loads of brutal bloodthirsty pedophiles, satanic worshiping and raping of women in your industry. Should we tune you all out and make a 31 min video highlighting all the terrible things going on there. Tell everyone to avoid all movies because of several, let me repeat SEVERAL bad actors and producers are pedo's and rapist? Serious question JO.

You seem to find humor in belittling people who are striving to work hard, dream big and help others earn some extra income or maybe earn a living helping others. A typical elitist thinking that earning only $200 – $1000 is a failure. You guys are out of touch. This is much needed extra money for some of these people and you have not done a good deed by making a one-sided video showing only the negative.

Hollywood has plenty to clean up itself. I don't see them lifting anyone up. Just watch your video's. Pompous and sarcastic to those you choose to attack. I don't see hollywood helping anyone achieve more and become more. Not without a casting couch and selling your soul first. I see a lot of takers, rapest, and pedos. You are in a sick group of people. Shame on you for making this one-sided video for a few laughs.

Great initiative John Oliver and team.

I was once a victim of such mlm scheme in India and during that time many of my friends started to avoid me.

I later made sure no one else falls victim to this and shared my experience with my friends who were thinking about that company( company’s name was Ebiz in 2007 but I am pretty sure it must be now running with a different name)

In USA I have seen many people from my community actively involved in Amway and trying to break conversation in order to pull me over in their “Mission” and I simply avoid them.

I would encourage people across USA and in other parts of the world to stay away from companies like Amway, Ebiz and Herbalife…

It's funny how they make a video here by discrediting the Network Marketing but they don't make one talking about the garbage offered by these big television networks financed by the lodges, more curious is that a comedian makes a video talking about business and even more curious is that There is no video of a serious businessman doing the same, I have only seen Elon Musk, Richard Branson, Warren Buffet, T. Harv Eker, Kiyosaki and others talking positive things.
Something they should know better than the comedian.

This video is retarded. It's focused on drama and also it's not showing true potentials of MLM. This poor guy is only showing us a bad side and also he's focusing on those who didin't make money. That's kinda sad. Anyway, dear human beings, stop being retarded. Love ya.

Another very common target for MLMs and other exploitative businesses is university students, because we're usually A) in need of money, B) good with social media, C) able to work flexible hours and D) connected to a wide range of people who we can sell to/recruit in turn. The fact that we're relatively inexperienced in the business world doesn't hurt either.

I see posters for MLMs around my campus all the time, and reps come to lectures during the first week or so of the year to try and get people's contact info. And every year at least some people (usually first years) fall for it. I'm honestly shocked that it's even allowed…

I am from India. My neighbour , a teacher, was a Amway distributor. She used to force parents to buy it. My family was coerced multiple times without success. She forced her daughter to feed some health drink to her child when they came for a visit. Around same time , that child fell ill and continued to have this instead of medicine. Situation got worse and the child was admitted to NICU with 10-20% hope for survival.luckily that child survived. Her daughter's husband flew down from his workplace and was understandably pissed off. He took his family back and still doesn't allow this child to stay at this ladys place.thankfully she stopped this buissnes, but now forcing people to join some insurance scheme.
