Lot of negative comments in this thread. Gotta love all the people who, with zero experience, just have to chime in with their enlightened commentary. I guess some people live their lives with low expectations never thinking there might be a better way. Suppose that's why there's Crapswell House coffee.

There is a difference between being pretentious and actually understanding and caring about the quality of something. Coffee is one of those quick and easy drinks and has been a staple of american culture for generations…but here we have folks who understand that there is a way to make it better and experience such a simple thing in life with more complexity…not sure why people who don't get it are so quick to put down those who do. It's just a kid who knows how to make a good cup of coffee….the end…

Thank you for the video. My hubby and I love coffee. We have never had one made like this but are intrigued by the flavor difference the precise measurements would have on a cup. We will have to give this a try.

Does all this stuff really make that big of a difference over a quality bean run through a drip brewer?

Everyone who made me pour over coffee has been too weak and I've been doing pour over for more than 12 years. I use two notches coarser than expresso. Use more than what people show. This is closed to what I probably like, but can tell it's weak but if it's a good roasting it'll be ok with me. Because most people on youtube shows a lighter color brew. And that's a no no, or why the heck am I drinking coffee instead of tea.

It's one of those things that's a matter of preference. The same goes for the type of bean you like and the whether you like a light or a medium roast. It's like saying the only correct way to eat eggs is scrambled. I get the other steps that help not to muddy up the taste, but really, in the end it's about what YOU like. That's why I make my own coffee at home. I seldom find conglomerate coffee that I like, and I almost never like the coffee made in establishments with baristas wearing Paddy caps.

I was genuinely curious about this when I started watching. About a minute in I wanted to hit myself in the head with a hammer. And when I saw that dude's earlobes, I traded in my hammer for a revolver.

I had pour over coffee today and that's the very first time I've actually had caffeine jitters from coffee. Is that normal? It was delicious!

Curious what the typical charge is at a coffee shop for a comparable cup of coffee at today's prices (2017)?

I see lots of hipster comments. What I see is a ritualistic behavior common to addictive substances. Much like cocaine on a mirror or 007’s shaken not stirred. The endorphins are related to the ritual not the actual high.
Anyway, anyone who really is hip, knows cold brew is the only way to go!
