Tiny house built to meet building codes in EUROPE | France, Germany, Denmark, England..

This week, Michael from Tiny House Living is showing us around in their Tiny House model here in Denmark. It’s a a 194 sq ft tiny house with 108 sq ft of loft space. On the ground floor is the kitchen, the bathroom and a fold out table, as well as a couch area for relaxation. The master bedroom is on of the lofts, and the lounge area is on the other one. The layout is great and it feel spacious; the ceiling is high and there’s lots of storage spaces throughout the house.

We had a chat with Michael about all the rules and regulations there are in Denmark when building houses, and it’s great to keep these things in mind when you’re considering getting a tiny house. However, the regulations are changing because the politicians here in Denmark are starting to see the possibilities with tiny living, so it might soon be easier and more affordable to build tiny houses. The Scandinavian market for tiny houses and small living is growing, and we’re very excited about it!! 🙂

Prices start around 70.000 USD and go up to around 120.000 USD

I've heard that some tinny houses can have a problem with damp, from condensation, in the winter. Would you mind asking someone another time if they have this, and how do they deal with it? Thank you. 🙂

I'm a bit of a sucker for Nordic and European design in general, but this is easily the best tiny home I've seen!!

I first saw this design layout back in 2014. Prices appear to have tripled/quadrupled in just 3 years. Cost of materials? http://youtu.be/RSzgh3D7-Q0

Great video and very informative, though I feel you should have mentioned Andrew and Gabriella Morrison's hOMe, upon which this design was obviously based. Thank you

This home is beautiful – the kitchen is so big and still has everything you could want, tons of storage cabinets, and a huge bathroom WITH a washer! Very nicely done!

Please note the fridge American friends. This counts as a large fridge in Europe. You don't need something the size of a closet, especially in a tiny house.

Why do they never mention that the concept of this tiny house on wheels is from tinyhousebuild.com in th US?
The plan is the same, they just adapted it to danish building codes.
It seems not right to me never to mention the creator of the plans…

good stuff but fuck the EU and their STUPID regulations and rules.
the Europeans in general are too goddamn control freaks, just like the Nazi libtard Democrats in US.

This isn't European design….it's The Morrison hOMe design from the United States. You could've atleast given the credit to Andrew Morrison who's the REAL architect of this model.

This is a very interesting video, especially because I live in France and when I look at an American tiny house, I always think about the different rules in Europe 🙂

I think the way round the rules in europe are to build on a old truck or bus etc like an RV etc or take an old rv and do a re build.

The house is great. But it misses the idea of downsizing. If you don't have the right amount of closets, you will not be tempted to accumulate stuff.

In Poland for any building under 35m2 you don't need building permit with exact construction plans etc. Just some simple "declaration".

What an oxymoron that a tiny house is crippled by the building requirements because of energy efficiency. A tiny house is already more energy efficient because of the small size per person. How frustrating. I wanted to build a tiny house but now my hope is dying. The price per square meter is just sky high here in Denmark, but it's nice to see that things are progressing.

i dont get it. whats the point? you pay the same high price for less space. so why not go little bigger?
from "living philosophy" point of view, it makes sense if you have a minimalistic lifestyle, you have/need/keep barely any stuff.
if you keep items for a full blown house, it doesn't make sense just to cram them in a smaller space. for my taste, the house looks too crowded and full.
