The Best of Both Worlds, Chain of Command, The Inner Light, All Good Things. You made the right choice with TNG at #1.

half of this isn't even science fiction!
    setting does not equal genre
Just because there is some techno babble to explain your mcguffin, or the setting is space does no where near make it Sceince Fiction.
Stargate and Firefly are both one of my favourite shows, but they are not ScFi.

Who should be No 1, and Blake's 7 and the outer limits should be included.

Farscape and Babylon 5 deserve to be more than honorable mentions imo. The former was so weird and original, you can't help but sit back and enjoy the ride, and the latter is one of the best TV shows I've ever seen. All five seasons of B5 were planned from the very beginning and it shows. Also, I have a feeling The Expanse will deserve to be on this list once it's finished its run.

I give up on the integrity of the list when they introduced “stargaze sg 1” as being “based on a mediocre movie…”…really, “mediocre”??? That was far and away the best theatrical sci fi movie of the past thirty years. At least it had a great cast and an original and interesting script, which is more than can be said for any Star Wars or Star Trek movie or, for that matter, any dumb tv show like Doctor Who or crap like that!

    Why exclude Blake's 7?
It was probably THE science fiction show that made it past the iron curtain.

Babylon 5 is one of the top 5 shows of all time forget genre and, although I'm not a fan, if your criteria includes run-time Dr. Who should be number 1.

The new BSG is definitely the best. The acting was far superior than the other Sci-fi shows. The orignal BSG was ok but the audience was more for children than adults. Star Trek both original and new would come in second.

Firefly? Really? That show didn't last one season. I love joss weadon but he dropped the ball there. I do agree with the original star trek being on the list. It was one off the first shows or movies that showed that sci fi had more potential than the campy 50s crap that came out before.

I feel like stargate sg-1 should have been higher on the list, especially because it still has a huge fan base, it had 10 seasons, 2 spin off shows, and 2 movies based off the show. And is getting another spin off show shortly. I believe stargate was a little to low on the list.

I agree with most of this. I just want to insert a "1 Season" series that I thought was GREAT and never had a chance to grow up. It was called "Space Above + Beyond" and depicted a squad of Marines fighting from a Space Aircraft Carrier called the "Saratoga". The enemy was a race called loosely "Chigs" which had invaded Earth Colonization planets. The squad, called the "58th" confronted the enemies on Land, Sea, and Air, and Space. It had great special effects, good plots, and very good acting. The things that killed it were most likely it was too "Conservative" for a lot of people, it was "Patriotic" and applauded "Esprit de Corp", and the pilots flew around in the future listening mostly to Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash (which was fine by me, but where did current music artist warp to?) It really was a cool little series.
