Answer: This Video (Don’t worry, it’s PG)

The benefits of taking outdoor solar showers while living in a van:
1 – It’s Free
2 – It’s Efficient
3 – It’s An Adventure
4 – I don’t have to clean a bathroom

I live in a 1985 Volkswagen Westfalia van and travel around the country, doing freelance marketing work from coffee shops. I shower with a 5 gallon Solar Shower from Advanced Elements and use Campsuds or Wilderness Wash to get clean.

That bag of water must be really heavy to lift up, not sure I could lift it when full.

still, I think it's easier for men to use less water, just saying.

I do the same but open my vanagon westfalia rear hatch and throw my shower bag on top of it.I leave the bag under the rear hatch window all day for a hot shower in the evening.Once was checked out by a police dog handler and a plain cloths cop after showering in a park. You can also tie a cord to the bag and throw it over a tree branch pull your bag up over your head. When working in England they do not have showers there I used my shower bag.Pretty handy piece of kit.

with regards to the cold shower, can you not just boil a kettle and add the hot water to the bag?

Did this all the time in parking lots next to the beach. The pump up sprayer is great for this as well.

Just ran across your channel…Nice VW rig. About your shower. I was thinking what I would do if no hot water is available. The solution is pretty simple. Take a pot put some water in it, heat it on your stove, and pour it into your shower bag just as warm as you like it. I see you have a stove….so why hot use it. Just get a funnel. Nice video.

Better: Warm water, hang solar shower bag inside. Use jack on driver side lift driver side, put up hoola hoop with shower curtain, hang from poptop. Water runs out door. Squeegy floor dry. Easy, warm, private. A year of it, no worries.

u can use a tiny alcohol cook stove to heat a pot of water to add to your bag on shady days. like a trangia mini or a diy or ebay version of that.

If you don't have "hot" water because of no sun, you can heat up a kettle of water on your stove in about 3 to 4 min and put it in with your 3 to 4 gallons of water that's already in your solar water shower and you will then have a warm shower. Always worked for me. I heat up a kettle in the morning anyway for coffee and washing skillets and utensils for breakfast. I don't have to use my hot water heater when I do that.

Hi, I want to save more money by living in my van. Do you know other ways of saving money while living in a van? Also, do you work at a temp service for full time work?
